Ongoing Mission Projects at CCC
Food Pantry at MACCA At CCC, each time we gather for worship or small group meetings, folks are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items to be used to help struggling folks i the larger community of which we are a part. Thus far in our short existence, we have help support the food pantry ministries of two congregations in Charlottesville and that of the Monticello Area Community Action Agency. Most recently, CCC was able to donate 52 cans (55 lbs) of food to the Fluvanna County office of MACCA. They are located in the back of the Fluvanna County Library. Bertha Armstrong, who works there, said that any time there is a need and the indiviudal is a county resident, we only need to call and let her know we are sending an individual for help. New Beginnings Christian Community Clothing for both men and women was taken to Pastor Liz Emrey of New Beginnings Christian Community. Also, items that can be used for their Christmas distribution were donated, as well as a number of Bibles. Ongoing Needs As you come each Sunday, please bring a can of food. There is a basket available in the foyer. SIGA Ministry Partners The ministry of Ruth and Carlos in Costa Rica continues to need our prayers and support. Remember them as they work through SIGA Minsitry Partners. Barnabas Ministry We regularly send out words of encouragment to persons who are ill, struggling in life, or just need a good word on occasion. We utilize recycled greeting cards in this ministry. Please save greeting cards that you have received. Cut off the front of the card and put it in a basket that I will have in the foyer when we return on the 29th of June. Monthly Mission Offering Back in March we made the decision to receive a mission offering on the first Sunday of each month Thanks! |
