PACEM - A Ministry to the Homeless

February 2012 Mission

In partnership with PACEM and Universtity Baptist Church, we will be ministering to the homeless men of Charlottesville.  We will purchase, prepare, and serve dinner on Thursday, February 9 and Thursday, February 16.  The meals will be served at University Baptist in Charlottesville during the two weeks that congregation provides space to house the homeless — February 4-17, 2012.

Those who are preparing & serving meals need to be at University Baptist no later than 5:30pm.

This effort is being spearheaded by our Monday and Thursday evening small groups.  However, other folks from the congregation and from outside the congregation will be participating as well.

Monitary donations are needed to help offset the cost of food items.  Please write "PACEM" on the memo portion of your check or indicate same on the "Designated" line of your offering envelope.  You may also give online via debit or credit card.

Supplies Needed

• McDonalds gift cards

• Deodorant

• Foot powder

• Shaving cream & Razors (all available at the dollar stores)

• Travel-size shampoo, soap, toothpaste

• New, white or grey athletic socks

Thursday, February 9 - Thick vegetable soup, grilled cheese sandwiches, canned peaches

Thursday, February 16 - Beef Stew, applesauce, cornbread
