Neighborhood Gatherings

Small Groups

At CCC, we seek to be a church of small groups rather than a church with small groups. There is a difference.  The first bespeaks a church which finds its sense of community, spiritual growth, and life-care through the love experienced and expressed in small groups.  The second is a programming "add-on" which typically has little impact on the lives of its participants or that of the church.

Life change happens in small groups.  Small groups can offer you the chance to:

  • Grow deeper in your relationship with God
  • Connect with others in the church community
  • Expand your vision of what God can through and in your life

When God gave Jesus the mission of reaching the world with the good news of his love and grace, Jesus employed a world-changing strategy: he poured his life into a small group (his disciples).

The early church also provided a model of world-changing community – meeting and sharing together daily in the course of their everyday lives.  The Bible tells us, "They devoted themselves to the apostles teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread, and to prayer.  All the believers were together and had everything in common.  Every day they continued to meet together... they broke bread in their homes and ate together... and the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved." (Acts 2:42, 44, 46-47)

Experience Biblical Community: We are moving toward the biblical goal of being a church of small groups through Neighborhood Gatherings.  These venues consist of gatherings in homes around the area for fellowship, Bible study, prayer, and missional activities.  Each group has its own unique "flavor".  Visitors are always welcome.

All persons who attend CCC are encouraged to experience the powerful sense of belonging and opportunities which these small gatherings of Christ-followers provide.  Check out the list; there is likely a group meeting in a neighborhood near you.  You can sign up here and we'll have the coffee waiting for you at our next gathering.
